The Federal Government said on Thursday that there
was no going back on the decision to privatise the power sector.
The Minister of Power, Chinedu Nebo, said this in a
statement by Deputy Director/Head of Press of the ministry Timothy Oyedeji, in
Abuja.
It said that the minister stated this when USAID
delegation paid him a courtesy visit.
The statement said there was no going back on
contents and details of the approved Road Map.
It expressed appreciation of the work done by USAID,
especially in the area of capacity building.
It added that the ministry needed more help to
strengthen institutions and plans implementation.
The statement said that some gaps had been
identified by the government while approval had been given to include them in
the second road map.
It called for more investments from genuine
investors to come and take advantage of the revolution that was about to happen
in the sector.
The statement said the minister likened the
development that would happen in the sector to that of telecommunications.
