government
VOICE
“So when I came in, because there were
many stories making the rounds that there were many ghost workers in the
system; and I also knew that there were ghost workers, so we constituted a
high-powered committee that went round all the MDAs, met every civil servants,
one man, one file, you come with your file, then they screen you.
“So, at the end of the day, the report
had shown that we had about 1,500 ghost workers, so we now have to verify, we
have to verify because there could be a human error.
“This
has been successfully done, and I can tell you that we have gotten some
savings, but they have not finish the exercise, even the first month of this
exercise, we were able to save N12 million.
